Zorin OS

I'm 52, male and live in Cornwall which is a peninsula on the southwest of England. I came to Linux (this is true), because I felt I was spending much too much time online. I considered destroying the laptop, but then I thought, no, that would just be a waste.  So, as an alternative I wiped Vista intending to install a Linux distro which would allow me to still use the laptop, albeit in a much more limited way with no wireless connection (or so I thought). Anyway, the opposite has proven true. I have found the world of Linux to be totally fascinating and am on the laptop more than ever!!

Zorin is a great distro. It's simple, easy to use, configure and customise. Plugged in both of my printers, each were installed instantaneously. Scanner? No problem. I can back up DVDs using the simple DVD backup from the software centre and create mp3s using the equally simple CD extractor. Everything works straight out of the box with no faffing about on the Cups site or anything. Zorin is faster than MS Windows too.

If Zorin has a problem, its that not enough people have heard of it. If they had, it would be at the top of the distrowatch chart along with Ubuntu, OpenSuse and Fedora.
