About Me
CPO USN Ret. I love Fishing, all kinds of Fishing, be it Big Game, Meat, wading around in the icey streams of the Pacific Northwest, or the warm lagoon waters of the Islands of French Polynesia. I love the hunt, the hook-up, the fight and the whole nine yards that it takes to be a fisherman. I also love computers, Photography, Woodworking, and all kinds of mechanical work and studies. I was an Electronics Technician in the US Navy for my career and then was a Field Engineer for Sperry Univac... I still am in a learning environment as I have been all my life. The learning and the studying never seem to grow old... I have been a Refrigeration Tech, an Electrician working on marine equipment and shore equipment in both fields. I was a DJ in the Hawaiian Music Radio Field and love anything to do with the Polynesian Culture. I am using a Ubuntu Studio box to sign up in Zorin, and as there is no "Upload Button" showing on the "Profile Image" box you just gonna have to imagine how euuugly I are. I am going to be downloading the 32bit version and a 64 bit version and hopefully will find a "live" version somewhere on the site... I am fairly gnu to linux and have managed to install and use the Ubuntu 9.10 32 but version, and the Ubuntu 10.04 then to this laptop which I am running the Studio 64 bit version on at present. I live on an Island that is not at the end of the world, just sorta over it. We're about 17 miles to Bora Bora and I see her when I wake in the morning and when the sun sets in the evening.. I have a photo site that has photos of here and there and most everywhere I have travelled since taking up a camera and trying to learn how to use it..... BTW I have been Using Gimp for years and years. I Used Gimp in Windoze and as it was a "Linux" baby, I decided to switch OS's and have never looked back... It hasn't been easy, as there are so very few users here, but I keep on plugging away and am in the process of starting a Users Group to help those who might like to become more proficient in computers and getting away from the "commercial" branch of computing... In Other Words, making learning fun again..... Wish me luck!! Oh! Looking for a live USB bootable version if there is one around both for the 32 bit and 64 bit versions....
